Goodwood Members Meeting on 9 & 10 April presented by Audrain Motorsport

Over the next few days, the engines will once again roar at the 79th edition of the Goodwood Members Meeting.

Exclusive

This rather exclusive event is reserved for Goodwood Members. The event has become a little more accessible in recent years since the Goodwood Felowship was created. For £43; per year you get access to a lot of exclusive footage on the restricted parts of the Goodwood website. You can also buy tickets for the event itself.

The Members Meeting can be compared to a mix between the Festival of Speed and the Revival. There are previews for the general public of car makes such as this year’s very special T.33 from Gordon Murray Automotive.

A demo run of various Porsche 956 and 962 is also on the agenda.

Or how about the celebration of the V10 era in Formula 1 with the necessary ‘live’ demos. During the Revival you will not see any ‘recent’ F1 cars on the circuit. During the Members Meeting this will all be discussed.

Races

It’s certainly not just demo runs or celebrations that are going on. This year, two new series have been added. The A.F.P Fane Trophy and the Robert Brooks Trophy (this last name will be covered in a completely different article soon).

Perhaps it would be a good idea to give you an overview of the other races, so I’ll list them here. The Derek Bell Cup, the Gerry Marschall Trophy, the Graham Hill Trophy, the Hailwood Trophy, the Peter Collins Trophy, the Sopwith Cup, the Surtees Trophy, the Varzi Trophy and the Westlake Cup. And they cram it all into just two days. Talk about a full programme!

Bonhams will also be present. As one of the most important classic car auction houses, they cannot be absent at such an important event. Some of the striking vehicles on offer are the 1967 Maserati Mistral 4.0-Litre Spyder, the 1975 Aston Martin Lagonda Series 1 7.0-Litre Saloon, a 1974 Ferrari 365 BB GT4 and the 1956 Albatross speedboat owned by HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh to name but a few.

If you were not able to attend this edition, be sure to watch the various livestreams and try to soak up the atmosphere!
