Driven by light, the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer.

TAG Heuer has proven several times in the past to be innovative as a brand and proves it again with the light-powered Aquaracer professional 200 Solargraph.

This timepiece is aimed primarily at the sporty “outdoor” category of people who are looking for a watch that is reliable, light and never fails in any conditions.

We like to highlight here below the advantages and innovations to this timepiece.

With its size of 40mm, the watch is neither too big nor too small and therefore extremely comfortable. The bezel is in carbon which in itself is not exceptional but the fact that in this carbon bezel, in addition to the diving scale in lume, a playful pattern of super-luminova is interwoven makes the appearance of the watch in the dark spectacular. The Super-luminova on the hour and minute hands are also excellent making readability in the dark outstanding.

The big innovation of the Aquaracer 200 Professional Solargraph is, as the model name already partly reveals, in the dial.

This dial is transparent and under the dial there is a solar accumulator that provides the watch with 6 months of power and that only by providing the dial of the watch with direct sunlight or artificial light for 20 hours.

This 6 month autonomy can even be extended by placing the watch in power-save mode, resulting in an autonomy of 3.5 years. This ensures that you never have to replace a battery and if the watch has been sitting in a dark drawer or cabinet for months, you can provide it with several days of autonomy by keeping it in sunlight or artificial light for a few minutes.

The blueprint of this eco-drive movement was overhauled by the renowned Swiss watch builder “La Joux-Perret” and resulted in the new Calibre TH50-00, developed exclusively for TAG Heuer.
