With Christmas and New Year coming up, we want to help you in your search for the ultimate gift to give or receive.
Our list contains gift ideas in every price range, from books to shoes and watches. Are you watching?
Photo Art
What is more beautiful than a picture of your favourite car on your wall? Right, a picture of Automobilist. You can go to them for a simple poster but also real works of art like the one above. More info on the website of Automobilist.
Shoes
Sparco is a shoe brand that has been focusing on the sporty motorist for years. The wide range ensures that there is something for everyone. Want to know more? Then take a look at their website.
Driver gloves
Let’s stay on the subject of clothing, or rather accessories. When you get behind the wheel of your beloved car or even better your classic car, a set of driver gloves might make the difference. At AutoDromo they know all about it. Take a look at their website and get inspired.
Jacket
To conclude the clothing theme, we would like to introduce you to the website of Grand Prix Originals. They don’t only offer jackets but also other garments. One thing they all have in common is a link to the classic car world.
Mille Miglia timepiece
Timepieces continue to do well by many men. It is often the only piece of jewellery a man wears. So sometimes it is allowed to cost something. Just like this beautiful Mille Miglia timepiece from Chopard.
Hot Wheels
Because it doesn’t always have to cost pieces of people, I thought it would be fun to put Hot Wheels in the picture. These nice cars from Mattel are doing well in all age categories. They now have a “Garage of Legends” series for sale at the better toy shop.
Camel Trophy
Our first book in the list. This is from the publisher Porter Press, they specialise in automotive books and have a wonderful selection. They are also critical, because every book they publish has to meet a certain standard. You will also find many ‘special editions’ which are sometimes published in a very limited edition. We have already discussed this Camel Trophy book in a short article on our blog. We highly recommend it and it is on sale for £60.
Art
That art doesn’t always have to be very expensive is proof that works of art always do well in automobiles. You don’t always have to walk far for them, by the way. The above work on wooden panel was made by Philipp Cleiren. Apart from the fact that I sometimes wonder whether he has motor oil instead of blood running through his veins, Philipp is also a first-class artist. His works are extremely exclusive and also quite affordable. The best way to reach Philipp is to send an email to philipp@xrxs.com. The work above is yours for € 795;
Model cars
Actually, we are all big (or small) children. The modelling company Revell has understood that very well. They respond to current models. Of course, there is a fixed assortment where every model builder can find something to his liking. Be sure to take a look at their website.
Magazine
If we can, we like to shop locally. This year, for example, a new magazine has been launched. The Tazio magazine is quite broad. For example, there is an article about a classic mini but also about the Silver Arows during the German GP of 1935. And that is what makes the magazine so interesting to me. Everyone finds his own thing. Hats off to the team of Johan & Dirk! A subscription on Tazio costs you € 83; per year incl. shipping. An ideal gift idea so subscribe here.
Inside Valkyrie
“As close as you can get to Valkyrie”. That is how this book (or rather 4 books) is sometimes referred to. The Aston Martin Valkyrie is not only extremely expensive but also sold out. The Antwerp-based Waft had the unique opportunity to follow the development of the Valkyrie from the beginning. The aim was to document this unique car and its construction. Every buyer of a Valkyrie also receives the book made by Waft. That particular book a mere mortal like you and me cannot buy. But the version above can, although you shouldn’t wait too long for this one either because with only 300 copies it remains quite exclusive. Knowing Waft, you can consider this book as an investment. So go and have a quick look at their website.
Amalgam
If you don’t know Amalgam yet, I hope that this will make you curious enough to visit their website. They belong to the absolute world top when it comes to scale models. One of their most recent creations is an F1 wheel. But their range is very extensive, and the prices are correspondingly high. But you do get something very special under the Christmas tree. Until 3 January you pay no shipping costs 😉 .
Garage Floor
You may have a nice car in your garage, but what about the floor? RaceDeck has a solution for this. They offer synthetic floors that you can lay over your existing (perhaps ugly) floor. There is no shortage of choice, because the standard range includes 20 designs. Everything else can be made to measure. And since Max is world champion, we don’t mind crossing the border for a while either. All info can be found on their website.
Photo wallpaper
Maybe your favourite classis car is in your garage or maybe not. But don’t worry, for a very pleasant price Ivo from Promo BV will place a fantastic wall-sized photo in your home, mencave or wherever you want. Reckon on a placed price of +/- € 70; p/m² in the region of Waasland. If you live outside this area, it is best to contact him for a price quote.
Porsche Bluetooth Speaker
If you have a Porsche in your garage (or you dream of one), this bluetooth speaker from Porsche is a must-have. Not exactly cheap, but certainly original with the exhaust pipes of a 911 GT3. For 349; euros it will be on your desk or in your garage. You can order via the Coolthings.be website, they deliver without transport costs in Belgium and the Netherlands.
